Hello,

My name is Sara Miller, and I represent the Community Outreach team here at ConsumerSafetyGuide.com. I found the Yankee Home Inspection website while browsing through some health education and consumer related websites and I had to let you know personally how impressed I was with the many great resources your website displays!

Consumer Safety Guide was created to keep the public informed about consumer dangers and safety issues associated with numerous products that can cause the public harm. Our website is constantly being updated with the most recent information on the most popular prescription medications and FDA-approved medical devices that could be endangering your health or putting your loved ones at risk. Our mission is to keep you informed and help you make the most educated decisions about your health care!

  • Can you build on it – How much of the lot can be built upon? Topography and soil conditions are two vital issues.
  • Type of lot – Is it developed or undeveloped?
  • Zoning – Are there environmental factors, setbacks, future community development?
  • Utilities and Roads – Consider the cost and effort of bringing utilities and roads onto your property.
  • Liens and Easements – If either is attached to the deed for the land, you need to know about them in advance and plan for them as you design your home.

  • Costs to develop the land – Take into consideration the costs involved to develop it. Look for sites that have septic and/or well in place, or are cleared with a driveway roughed in.
